Lord Howe Environmental Tours now offers a unique night time, coral reef experience.

The Night Coral Viewing and Snorkelling Tour has been developed to educate and facilitate the viewing of our unique reef environment during the night. This tour introduces lighting technology that enables visitors to view from the comfort of the Glass Bottom Boat, an amazing phenomena known as coral fluorescence. Coral fluorescence occurs when excitation filters are placed over lights directed onto the coral and results in the corals reflecting a visible range of neon colours. This experience is incredibly unique and should not be missed.  

For those seeking a little more adventure, join us on our Night Snorkelling and Coral Fluorescence Tour. This tour is conducted from our Glass Bottom Boat and operates within the calm protected environment of the lagoon. Snorkelers undertaking this tour are provided with quality snorkelling equipment and specially designed underwater torches that enable them to view coral fluorescence.  Snorkelling locations visited during this tour are clearly marked with illuminated boundary markers enabling snorkelers to safely navigate their way around the site.
